In recent years my work has focused on large scale public art installations. During these projects I found a need to balance the intensely collaborative, methodic nature of public work with the intimate and intuitive acts of printing. Mono series A and B are explorations in the realm of pure creation. I enter the studio alone and try to abandon any pre-conceived notions of outcome. Size, color, composition are more or less dictated by mood, playfulness and freedom. The print records these individual moments of consciousness. In this sense my work aligns with the notions of abstract expressionism. It is my hope that working in this way reveals a connection with spiritual and natural phenomenon that might not otherwise be observed.
