Fruit Crates

St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center Fruitland, ID
2012

Commissioned though SARMC and Jacque Crist

This work is a site specific commission for the St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center located in Fruitland Idaho. The commissioned artwork focused on regional identity while creating a statement artwork for the main entrance lobby niche, integrating with the architecture of the building. Fruitland was once an area of vast orchards and nurseries and one can still see stacks of old wooden fruit crates on the side of the road. The glass replicas of stacked crates commemorates the history of place while the splash of fresh red hints towards the hopeful and lively nature of the current moment, health and fullness of life.
